Work On Keystone Trail Causes Two Closures |
The Omaha World-Herald is reporting that the Keystone recreation trail will be closed in two spots in Sarpy County while crews work to correct erosion problems.
Construction work is scheduled to begin this week near the Harrison Street bridge at 60th Street and near the Cornhusker Road bridge at 48th Street. Work is expected to last about 30 days. No detours will be set up.
Warning signs and construction fence will be erected near the construction areas, but the fence will be opened overnight and on weekends when it is deemed safe for trail users.
Workers will add curbs, curb inlets and drain pipe to send storm water runoff into the creek at each bridge. Runoff has caused erosion under the bridges and threatens the intergrity of the trail, according to the Papio-Missouri River Natural Resources District.
