Lamp Park Connector Underway Print E-mail

Trail users and park enthusiasts will have a new recreational link to the Omaha trail network starting in June.  Construction began this spring on the Lamp Park connector which starts at the park, located southeast of 114th and Davenport Streets, and runs south along the west side of the Big Papio.  The trail will cross to the east side of the creek via the Pacific Street bridge where it will connect to the Big Papio trail.

The new connector will also link to Meadow Lane Park's interior trail system via an existing trail on Lamp Street.  Although Meadow Lane Park's network currently terminates at 120th Street, future links are planned which will extend the trail to the west to Deer Ridge Park ultimately connecting to a trail near 132nd and Pacific.

Paul Martin will the City of Omaha Parks, Recreation, and Public Properties Department anticipates completion of the Lamp Park Connector around June 1st.
